PA System

A public address is a form of electronic amplification that includes an amplifier, mixer and loudspeakers that are used to reinforce a particular sound. For instance, a person making a message, speech or a pre-recorded message and other form of music that has to be distributed publicly. The simple forms of PA systems are commonly used in small venues like churches, clubs, bars, school auditoriums.

The PA having large number of speakers is commonly used in commercial buildings, institutions, to read different announcement or declare emergency state. PA system also includes the facility of intercom that is widely used in schools, as they are connected with the microphone in each room of the school so that any announcement can be made in the classrooms. People disagree to call PA systems as sound reinforcement systems. The two systems can be distinguished easily on the bases of their capability and technology. Public address systems generally include the import sources, signalled routers, preamplifiers, amplifier’s, loudspeakers, monitoring equipments and controlling equipments.

Microphone and CD player are often referred as input sources. The input sources and provides the signal to the preamplifiers and a signal router through which it is carried out after determining the different zones through which an audio signal is fed. The frequency or amplification may vary from place to place or country to country and it also depends upon the kind of message or music that is played on the PA system.
