A microphone is also known as mike. In addition, a device converts the auditory signals into elective signals using a sense of inside it. Microphone converts the electric signal into sound signal that is produced at a very high frequency. Microphones are available in the market in different applications like tape recorders, telephones, motion picture, hearing aids, etc.

Microphone helps to increase the intensity of the sound so that more number of people is able to hear a person who is standing so far from them. Today microphones of also been introduced inside the computers so that you are able to talk to people sitting far away from you with the help of Internet. At public meetings and gatherings, the use of microphone is essential in order to make the sound of the speaker or the lecturer audible to all the audience that has gathered there.

There are different types of microphones like a condenser microphone, RF condenser microphone, moving coil microphones. Different type of microphones has their own special features and is used at different places according to their need and requirement. In a condenser microphone, that diaphragm of the microphone acts as a plate of the capacitor and can watch the vibration produced between the distances of the plates into sound. The RF condenser microphones have a low voltage as compared to the condenser microphone. The moving coil microphones make the use of the same principle as used in a loudspeaker. Today many headphones and mobiles are also fitted with a microphone in order to communicate with different people living in different places.
