Amplifiers

Amplifiers and are devices that are used to increase the signal and pitch of an instrument. Moreover, signal is known as current or voltage. The device has been often associated with musical instrument in order to increase their bass, treble, tempo and pitch. With the advancement in technology and time, the newer forms of electronic amplifiers have been introduced. The basic amplifiers works on the principal of transfer function that is directly proportional to the frequency. Gain of the amplifier id defined as the ratio between output power and the input power. The gain is deduced in decibels. Bandwidth is also a term associated with amplifiers and is very important in deciding the sound of your instrument. Generally, it is the range of the amplifier is what gives you satisfactory performance.

Most of the guitarists make the use of amplifiers in order to make their guitars sound better. Amplifiers have now become the essential part of the rock band instruments. Amplifiers were commonly used with refrigerators and air conditioners previously to convert the AC current into DC current. Now their use has also been extended to musical instruments. Efficiency of an amplifier is the calculation of what input power is usefully applied to the output of an amplifier. A good amplifier is able to produce a good efficiency. Class A amplifiers are generally low in efficiency and provide efficiency about 20%. Some of the switching amplifier’s are able to produce efficiency of 97% and are also available commercially.
